This is a support group open to adults (18+) throughout the U.S. with OCD and related conditions, facilitated by Dan Neumann, LICSW. The group size is 5-9 members. The group meets weekly for 90 minutes, is ongoing and discussion topics are guided by members’ interests, experiences, and needs. I ask that you attend regularly for at least 8 weeks so you can take advantage of the support, learning, camaraderie, etc.
Cost is $35/session – credit card is charged following each session.
A free consultation is required to determine a good fit and to answer your questions. An official OCD diagnosis is not required.
One of the biggest benefits of an OCD support group is the safe, supportive community it creates. The group allows you to discuss your experiences without judgment. This alone can be very therapeutic.
Group members have an opportunity to learn from each other, which is often more helpful than learning from a therapist. This is especially true for people with OCD, who may feel ashamed or guilty about their symptoms, and/or hesitant about talking about them with an individual therapist.
While the group includes education about OCD and evidence-based approaches such as ERP, ACT, and I-CBT, its primary purpose is connection, support, and shared learning.
